Description:
Oral orphenadrine citrate is classified as a skeletal muscle relaxant. It is used in conjunction with other therapeutic efforts to treat pain and discomfort associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions. The mechanism of action of orphenadrine citrate is not exactly known.

Ingredients:


Directions and Warnings:
Adults Under 60: Extended release tablets: 100 mg taken every 12 hours. Tablets: 50 mg taken three times daily. Adults 60 and Over: Reduced dosage may be necessary. Consult your physician. Infants and Children: The dosage has not been established. MaximumPrecautions: Exercise caution when using orphenadrine citrate in those with an increased heart rate or urinary retention. Infants and Children: This drug is not recommended for children under 12 years. Adults Over 60: Use with caution in this age group, as older patients are more likely to experience the drug s adverse reactions. Drug Dependency: This drug is not expected to cause physical or psychological dependence. Pregnancy Risk Category: C Pregnancy Warnings: There are no adequate studies of fetal harm in pregnant women. This drug should be used only if the benefits to the mother clearly outweigh the potential risks to the fetus. Nursing Mothers: It is not known whether this drug is secreted through breast milk and affects the infant. However, as with most drugs, it is advisable not to use while you are breastfeeding. Consult your physician if you plan to breastfeed. Prolonged Use: Prolonged use can increase internal eye pressure. Consult your physician about regular check ups. Discontinuing Therapy: Only discontinue therapy on the advice of your physician. Operating a Vehicle or Heavy Machinery: This drug may produce side effects that impair your mental alertness, such as drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms. In addition, avoid consuming alcohol or other central nervous system depressants while taking this drug. They may intensify these side effects. Sun Exposure: No problems expected.
